The Tax Payments worksheet reads perfectly with all data entered.
The Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet reports an incorrect amount for State taxes entered on lines 1h and 1i, which in turn then lists the wrong amount of state taxes on Schedule A line 5a.
This incorrect State Tax amount is carried forward beyond Fed Schedule A and affects also Federal Form 8960 as well as the State (CA in this instance) tax reporting forms.
I spent over one hour on phone with TurboTax help but never resolved the reason for this anomaly. It appears to be a bug in the program that I would suspect might affect many other TT users.

There can be things included in line 1h of the Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet that come from somewhere other than the Tax Payments Worksheet. On the Tax and Interest Deduction Worksheet, right click the amount on line 1h and select Data Source from the pop-up menu. It will give you a list of everything that's included, with links to where the amounts come from.
Thanks for your suggestion but it seems I am not able to highlight and right-click on line 1h to access the Data Source. I wish I could do that. Maybe not available for my MacBook Pro laptop computer?
I did get everything to work ***IF** instead of entering the correct estimated state tax data, I deleted the actual amount paid in Jan 15, 2025 and added that estimated payment to the Sep 2024 payment. Now all Federal forms (SchA and 8960) are populated correctly and the state tax is carried forward to the California state tax forms correctly.
However, I really believe TurboTax may have a bug and it is unreasonable to expect a 'dumb' user like me to have to Gerry-rig the data input to get correct results.

I'm having the same problem with the Utah taxes. How do I fix it?
No viable answers from TurboTax so I ended up having to 'trick' the program into thinking I had paid extra estimated taxes earlier in the year (Sep 15, 2024) and less later in the year (Jan 15, 2025 payment).
Crazy but it worked for me, though I think TurboTax ought to fix bugs such as this.
