I have repeatedly used turbotax to log into my B ofA account. B of A acknowledges that this has happened and that permission has been granted to export the needed documents. However, turbotax says only that there are no documents, or rather that I should ask my bank when I would receive them. I have logged out of my bank account and then logged back in, and the documents (1099-INT, K-1) are there and I can download them. This seems like a TurboTax problem. Can I fix this?
Part 2: if I can't fix this, what do I do? Can I manually enter just the significant bottom lines or do I need to manually enter every single data point detail from what is really an impossibly complicated document. By significant lines I mean: overall capital gains and loss. I would be omitting, e.g. that such-and-such number of dividends came from Coke stock? Because my document is 19 pages long and I will inevitably fail to type it in character-perfect without some inadvertent error, which the government will then detect (since they know all this already, because my bank told them)?
