I'm having the same issue everyone else is having and this is very frustrating. I'm on a Mac with the Desktop version of Premier and definitely < 1,000 transactions on the eTrade statement. This NEEDS to be fixed ASAP!
There has been an update to the software that should fix the issue of importing transactions. Please update your software and try again. Thank you all for your patience!
Can confirm that the download did work for me.
Still having the import issue on TurboTax Desktop on Mac. The error presented is 'General Account Error.' Is this a known issue and is it being addressed? Thanks.
Same issue Turbotax for Mac. I enter my login info for Etrade and the continue button is grayed out. I can't click it. I have allowed 3rd party sharing. Very frustrating that this late in the tax season this still and issue. Just downloaded it yesterday.
'General Account Error' is not a TurboTax error that I've encountered. Sounds like something with your Etrade account, so you could reach out to them.
Here's How to Turn Off Anti-Virus Programs, which may resolve your issue. Have you enabled 'third party sharing' in your Etrade account settings?
...and, 3 weeks later STILL not working on a Windows 11 PC desktop, using 2024 TurboTax Deluxe which I purchase every year for this option of downloading!! I have never had so many problems with TurboTax as I have had this year. I have followed all instructions for making sure my eTrade profile will accept third-party, double-checked user id and password (all correct), disabled VPN, etc. I still get the error message: "This import was unsuccessful. Internal server error." And...YES...I know I can enter manually, but I want TT to do it because that is so I don't have to. That's the point!
I use the online version of Turbotax, and importing from Etrade works flawlessly. I have macOS Sequoia 15.4 and Chrome.
Solved for me at least. Antivirus software from F-Secure, Turn off Banking mode. It prevents etrade from even attempting to connect.
