the software asks you for donation amount , not the credit amount resulting in a larger credit than you should get.  

the correct amounts are

Form DR1317 ( 09/13/23) line 3 credit allowed  or 

Form DR1317( 07/19/13)  line 4 credit available

The reference to line 3 on the DR 1317 is correct. The wording could be better since line 3 is the amount of the credit and not the donation (which is line 2).
