Error in turbox tax for etrade login

No but that sounds like something I would like to try.  I have only clicked on

the etrade from the list of investments companies.  Where would I copy in the

link?

Most E*Trade accounts are now listed under Morgan Stanley for tax reporting - I entered Morgan Stanley into the TurboTax auto find feature and it loaded my ETrade account information after entering my ETrade login information.

When you select the bank or financial institution, instead of searching by E*Trade, you would paste the URL for E*Trade into the search bar, to pull in the best access for your account. @bgrindle7

It won't let me enter etrade.com or www.etrade.com in that search bar.  It just

treats as searching for financial institution that isn't there.   I also tried all the

morgan stanley options and they didn't work either.  So frustrating.  I would

think E*trade securities would go directly to www.etrade.com, but no way to

verify.

Error in turbox tax for etrade login

Hi @bgrindle7

It happened the same to me, and I just recalled that I had the security ID enabled, this is also known as 2FA (2 Factor Authentication. The solution for me was just as easy as disabling the 2FA. After that, I tried to import the transactions from eTRADE and that was successfully done.

Also, I found a quick guide that explains how to disable the eTrade 2FA, I used the web application to do it. Please, see the link below.

Hope this can help you out.

Error in turbox tax for etrade login

I had the same problem and churned on it for a few hours.   The problem turned out to be I was using the E-trade app on my phone to try and find the Security Setting to allow third-party data sharing.   There is no such setting on the mobile app.   I finally logged in to Etrade online and boom there it was under my account profile / security setting /

I selected "Allow" and tried it again from TurboTax and it worked.

You have to enabled Third Party data sharing in security settings with etrade, then it works.
