ERROR 42016 CANNOT UPDATE

Turbotax 2024 is doing the exact same thing. Error 42016 Can not update unexpected content received. I installed it on 04/04/2025 and checked it from time to time. Support doesn't exist, wasted money, it can not file because it can not update or download state files.  Due to the time, I want with H&R Block software and was done in 20 min. It was a download, it checked for updates, none needed and imported your tax files. I used you for six years, but good by and hello H&R.

If this doesn't resolve your error, here's How to Forcefully Uninstall TurboTax. 

When you re-install, turn off your anti-virus programs, and make sure you run as Administrator on your C drive.
