Entering 1099-R

Entering 1099-R information in 2024 TURBOTAX online - I entered several 1099-R's and they all indicate "Needs Review".  I've reviewed them, deleted them and re-entered them and finally deleted my tax return and started over.  The 1099-R's still show "Needs Review".  These 1099-R's are from the same banks as in previous years and entered with no problem.  Is there a way to correct this issue or is there a now problem with 2024 TURBOTAX?  Am I wasting my time and should I look at other software for my tax return?  Please advise.

Entering 1099-R

If you’ve reviewed, deleted, and re-entered your 1099-Rs, and even started your tax return over, but the entries still show "Needs Review," follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Steps to Resolve "Needs Review" for 1099-R:

  1. Verify Key 1099-R Details:
  2. Ensure all fields are entered correctly:
    1. Box 1 (Gross Distribution) and Box 2a (Taxable Amount) match the form.
    2. Pay special attention to Box 7 (Distribution Code): Check this code is accurate (e.g., "7" for Normal Distribution or "4" for Death Benefit).
  3. Confirm whether the distribution involves a Rollover or Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and answer these questions completely.
    1. Clear Cookies and Cache:
    2. Log out of TurboTax.
  4. Clear your browser’s cookies and cache (usually under browser settings).
    1. Log back into TurboTax and recheck your entries.
    2. Manually Re-enter 1099-Rs:
  5. Avoid using import tools.
    1. Re-enter the information manually for each 1099-R to ensure accuracy.
