I'm receiving a transmission error for my spouses AGI for 2018 being incorrect. I filed 2018 tax returns using TurboTax and it transferred the amount to 2019. I've double checked it several times. The only thing I can think of is that my husband passed away in October 2019. I thought we still put in the full 2018 AGI into the field but that doesn't seem to be working and is rejecting upon submission. Please advise how to correct.

You did not mention what filing status you are filing under in 2019. Also, you indicated that your spouse's AGI from 2018 was causing the error. Are you filing 2019 with a married filing jointly status? If not, this is the cause of your error. Otherwise, be sure you are including the total AGI number listed on the front page of the 1040 return, both you and your spouse.
Yes I'm filing married jointly filing status for 2019 and I've put in the full AGI amount. Actually TurboTax transferred it from my 2018 tax return and I double checked it.
Yes sorry. There is a problem Efiling when one spouse died during the year. You can't efile.
How to mail a return from the Online version
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received the return. Don’t forget state.
Important! Mail Federal and State in separate envelopes and mail each year in separate envelopes.
This is a systemic error that is occurring to many people. I tried to e-file 3 times. All were rejected. I finally had to mail the return to the IRS.
