You can look on the last page of the instructions to form 1040 to see where you mail your federal return. It will vary depending on where you are filing from and whether you have a refund or not. The address for mailing your state return may be listed on the return or you may need to research it by finding the state department of revenue in your state online.
Turbotax usually supplies Filing Instructions. Why isn't this printing?
Filing instructions normally appear in one of the worksheets that TurboTax prepares along with your return documents. To print an individual worksheet from your return in TurboTax Online, before you file but after you pay for your product, you can go to Tax Tools, then Print Center. Choose to print all forms and worksheets, and save to PDF. You can then open the PDF and choose what worksheet to print. Or, you can use your device's Print Screen function.
If you are e-filing your returns using TurboTax, the IRS and state agency will be sent one electronic package with the forms prepared by TurboTax including W-2 worksheets.
If you tried to file electronically but the submission failed, confirm that you have a good internet connection. Hardwired connections work best. If you confirmed that all of the procedural steps were followed, you have a good connection, and your original return was fully processed, and you still get the transmission error message, please click here for information to contact TurboTax customer support.
If you choose to file by mail, TurboTax provides instructions for printing and preparing the return to mail with attachments. See here for more information. You will need to attach certain documents with the return at the time it is mailed. Some states have different requirements for attaching documents.
