I've tried twice now to efile my federal and state return. Both time it's been rejected saying that the AGI of my wife did not match last year. I checked last years return, again, as well as what the IRS has on file and what I am entering this year to efile is correct.
What I also am curious about is why is it saying that my wife's AGI is incorrect since we file a joint return?
I'm not even getting emails saying it's rejected. I have to open TT and check my status their.
How do I get this fixed so I can efile?????

To E-file your tax return, you will need EITHER last year's self-created 5-digit PIN, or last year's AGI (adjusted gross income). Your 5-digit PIN isn't saved anywhere; in this case you can use you AGI instead.
Your 2023 AGI is located within your prior-year tax documents Form 1040, Line 11.
Also there are a few reasons why your AGI, even if it is correct, it might not work, such as if your 2023 return was processed after April 15th, 2024. In this case you can try putting "0" for the AGI. See the link below for more details and scenarios. If after trying with "0" it keeps getting rejected you will have to paper file your return.
How do I find last year's AGI?
Well, that didn't work.......
Any other suggestions? Called Turbotax and they said it's and IRS problem. Contacted the IRS they said it a software problem. Either way the AGI I am entering is correct, per my records as well as the IRS website.
Entering "0" as you suggested resulted in another rejected return.
At no point did TT ask for my 4 digit PIN.
Why is TT asking for my wife's AGI when we file a joint return every year?
Are you entering the same number for both of you for the AGI?

Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number. If you:
Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.
This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
All of you responding aren't even reading my posts. The AGI IS correct. I've tried the IRS, your tech support, this chat area. Nobody can figure this out. The kicker is in NYS you have to efile. But since I can't efile my federal return, it won't let me efile NY.
Your product gets worse every year. I've been using this for 15 years and am finished with it.
I keep getting the same exact error. But everything is correct. Have you found a way yet?
Not yet. Apparently TurboTax doesn't have an answer either.
