Earned Income Credit & Child Tax Credit

I was wondering why for the first time in 18 years why I wouldn't get the earned income and child tax credits? I have three children and file head of household.

Check over this list and make sure there is nothing on your return that disqualifies the credit.   Do you have investment income?   To qualify for the EITC, you must:

• Have worked and earned income under $63,398
• Have investment income below $11,000 in the tax year 2023
• Have a valid Social Security number by the due date of your 2023 return (including extensions)
• Be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien all year
• Not file Form 2555, Foreign Earned Income
• Meet certain rules if you are separated from your spouse and not filing a joint tax return

To qualify for the EITC, a qualifying child must:

• Have a valid Social Security number
• Meet all 4 tests for a qualifying child
• Not be claimed by more than one person as a qualifying child

I don't have investment income. The list you sent I meet all the requirements.

Go back through the personal information that you entered for the children and make sure that you answered that they lived with you for the whole year and that they are your dependents.  If any of the answers accidentally disqualified you you need to fix them.
