downloading from cd

Have you tried rebooting your computer?  What Window version are you on?  Windows 10?  You can try downloading the program instead of installing from the CD.  How to download Turbo Tax instead of using the CD

There should be a card in the CD case that says how to download it and you will need the 14 or 16 digit code from it to enter.

@VolvoGirlsuggestion about rebooting (restarting) your computer is a good one.   Perhaps you have some Windows Updates that were downloaded in the background and awaiting a computer reboot to finish installing.
