My only occupation for 2020 was DoorDash, and in California we are still considered self-employed. I filled out the info for my 1099-NEC given to me by DoorDash, as well as my expenses for the job under the Self Employment Tab, 1099 NEC category. Upon trying to finish my filing, I am given a task on a to-do list labeled "Check This Entry".
The message is as follows:
"A link to Schedule C or another form is something we need to get your info in the right place.
Here's what to do: Go to "Federal" and then "Income & Expenses". Select "Income from Form 1099-NEC." Make sure to complete all of the info in this area."
There are similar posts out here for the same thing, but I couldn't find an answer. Most suggested a confusion between Other Income vs. Self Employment Income tabs; I am self-employed and have my information entered in the Self Employment, not Other Income, tab.
On the form it prompts me to add an entry to, the entry is labeled "Double click to link to" next to a field labeled Schedule C. To my understanding, the software is supposed to figure the Schedule C for me; if not, I'm confused, because I don't know what to enter into the box, and I don't want to enter the wrong thing.
All help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am getting the same exact thing. So hopefully this is just an error on their end. I double and triple checked my information and I really don't want to mail in . . . e-filing is why I am using TurboTax to begin with. So hopefully come Monday they will have this resolved. We are obviously not the only ones having this same issue.
I’m glad I’m not alone here! Hopefully it’s just a bug like you said and they fix it soon.
