i work for a car dealership and I get additional income from general motors based on new car sales. I am not self-employed, so how do I handle it?

No problem! Here is how you handle it:

Enter the 1099-MISC in the "Income from Form 1099-MISC" interview, found under Federal Taxes > Wages and income > Other Common Income.

After the 1099-MISC input screen, you will be asked to "Describe the reason for this 1099-MISC". Enter "Manufacturer's incentive".

The next screen asks "Does one of these uncommon situations apply? "Check the box for "This was a manufacturers incentive payment."

(See attached sample screenshot).
