As required, I paid several thousand in previous quarters. When writing the 2022 Tax with Turbo Tax Deluxe now, defining my current data, TurboTax shows that I am due some money. My question is simple: does Turbo Tax query the IRS database now, when I am finishing my taxes or do I have to go to my IRS site and add this prepaid amount myself?

You have a Refund without entering the estimates you paid? Why did you pay them? They were optional to pay not required. So you will have a much much bigger refund when you enter them. You will get them all back. Did your tax situation change for 2022?
If Turbo Tax prepared the vouchers then your tax liability was probably reduced by credits. They might have printed out if you got a one time large income last year like if you took a IRA or 401k distribution.
No. You have to enter them manually.
To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to
Federal on left or at top. Personal (Home & Business)
Deductions and Credits at top
Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
Estimated - click the Start or Update button
@VolvoGirl thank you for such a speedy and informative answer. I suspected that it would be as you stated, but since I entered my SSN and am connected to internet, in theory, it could be possible that Turbo Tax could fetch that information.
Thanks again 😀
