Does Being active military mean deluxe service is free to me? what service is free to me?

As an active military member, you can get TurboTax's Free Edition, Deluxe, or Premium services for free. To get the discount, enter your W-2 and verify your military rank when prompted within the TurboTax Online Product. The discount will be applied when you are ready to file.

The service to prepare your taxes will be free.  If you add services like Live or MAX you will be charged for those added services.

...AND, there are TWO places you will need to indicate that you were AD, and had Military pay.

1)  Where you enter your My Info stuff about yourself, you will need to indicate you were in the military and E-rank (Officers and Warrant officers do not get free filing)

2) and when you enter your Military W-2...on a page AFTER the main form, there is a page with a bunch of checkboxes....right in the middle of that page is one you MUST check, indicating the DFAS W-2 was for AD military pay.   You miss marking that checkbox, and the software prep/filing isn't free.
