No. If she is a dependent on your return, she does not need to enter the 1095-A on her return. It is only entered on the returns of non-dependents. Be sure that the box for dependent is checked on her return.
Thank you for your response! I want to clarify though that she's not a dependent on my tax return for 2024. She was a dependent on my Healthcare insurance policy, but she's filing taxes separately for the first time this year so she's not claimed as a dependent on my taxes. Does she still not declare the health insurance on her taxes, they only go on mine? Or do I have to claim her as a dependent on my 2024 taxes because she was on the 2024 healthcare policy as a dependent? Then I understand if she has to mark that she is a dependent on someone else's return as well when she files her taxes.
That makes a difference. No. If she is no longer a qualifying child on your tax return, then yes, she will need to enter the 1095-A on her return as well. Then you will allocate an amount to her and you. The amount you claim can be 0% or 100% as long as the numbers add up to 100% between both yours and her return. Many times, the parents claim the entire amount since the premiums were based on their income and they paid the premiums, but you can split it however you want.
No, you do not have to claim her as a dependent on your return because you have her on the insurance policy, however, you should contact the marketplace and have her get her own policy.
