Question

Do I report my mom’s stimulus check?

I was asked if I had received a stimulus check within 2021. During that time, I was underage and still a dependent, so I believe the government had given my mom a stimulus (bonus? check?) for me. Now that I am filing my own taxes, should I report the stimulus money that my mom got from me as my own, or should I just say that I received $0?

Your mom received the stimulus payment, not you.  So on your 2021 tax return you select that you did not receive the stimulus payment and enter a 0 for the amount received.

You do not enter that your mom received a stimulus check.   If you CANNOT be claimed as a dependent for 2021 you can get the $1400 recovery rebate credit yourself.   Mom does not have to pay hers back.
