Do I need to file MA Income Tax Return for kids?

Earned less than 8K MA threshold but are things different if they file federalk return? They only do that because unearned income > $1050. However US Due is $0 as income less than $2100?

No - You do not need to file a MA income tax return for your kids since their gross income was $8,000 or less.

MA does not require a return just because they filed a federal return (like other states do).

No - You do not need to file a MA income tax return for your kids since their gross income was $8,000 or less.

MA does not require a return just because they filed a federal return (like other states do).
