Can anyone assist with filling out form 8962?

Did you receive an IRS Letter 012C for tax year 2017 requesting a Form 1095-A and Form 8962?  Did you actually receive a 2017 Form 1095-A for healthcare coverage from healthcare.gov or one of the state marketplace exchanges?

If anyone on your return used health insurance from the Marketplace in 2017 , then your Form 8962 will be generated when you enter the 1095-A information into the health insurance tab of TurboTax.

If you have already filed and received a notice from the IRS, please see the directions below. If no one on your tax return had insurance from the Marketplace, then you will not need to have a Form 8962 but should contact the IRS back at the information provided on the notice.

Turbo Tax can help you complete a Form 8962 if you have received a letter from the IRS asking for an update.  Be sure to check if the letter references tax year 2017 or 2016. The form should have been generated when you entered your 1095-A into the Health Insurance section of Turbo Tax, but if for some reason it was not entered, these are the step-by-step instructions to add them.
