I live in Florida but received a W2 and 1099 misc for 2024 from a lawsuit settlement in California when I worked and lived there years ago. On the W2 they paid me wages that I should have gotten years ago when I worked and lived in california, and took taxes out as well for California. I also received a 1099 misc for extra money that was given in addition to the wages, as won in the lawsuit. Since I didn’t work in another state but “earned” money from California, do I answer “yes” to the question that I earned money in another state? Thank you for the clarity!

Thank you so much! So this will require me to file a non residence state return for California in turbo tax, correct?
Yes, you need to file CA non-resident return.
