I do Medical Transcription with a company as an independent contractor. The owner closed it without notice the last of December. We did not get paid for the last 2 weeks that we were there. I have most of my Turbotax filing done and just need the 1099 but he hasn't sent them and it is past 01/31. I've talked to the last payroll company that he used to send our direct deposits and they said that he cut off his account with them the middle of December and that they would not be sending them out and that it was up to him to do it. I have all of my pay stubs that were sent to me by email except one and I can download that payment from my bank. I was going to get back a pretty good refund and buy a care that I need desperately, if he doesn't send out the 1099s will I still receive my refund? The lady I talked to from the payroll company he used said that 1099 information is sent out when the 1099s are sent to the ICs. I did talk to the owner on the phone and he says THEY are working on it and that it will be out soon. He told me the same thing when I called and wanted by money that he owed. I do have his name, phone number, address, etc.
