My aunt helped me through a lot this past year so I let her claim my kids well they said she needed proof so my aunt ended up taking them off I already filed but I was wondering if I could just do an amendment and add them in my taxes as dependents if so exactly how do I do it on turbo tax and can I get in trouble for trying to carry them after she has? Also could I add my self employment on there too cause I didn’t know how to do it at first but I’ve figured it out please help!!

yes you can add dependents by completing a Form 1040X and adding your children as dependents in the personal section.

Depending on your income there should be up to $2000 of tax credits listed on the Form 1040 X and possibly EIC credits 

when complete, print it out and mail it in.

When the amendment Form 1040X is available, please follow the instructions in this link.  You will be asked the reason for amending. Then you will be able to add your children and self-employment income. To add a dependent, you will go to the Personal Information section and follow the interview screen to add the dependents.
