I am working on my Deceased grandfather taxes, and I am not sure if he should get a stimulus check. He passed away in February, before any stimulus was given.

Anyone who was alive for any part of 2020 is entitled for the first and second stimulus checks. Answer the stimulus questions in TurboTax and TurboTax will calculate the correct stimulus based on your answers.
The IRS says:
"An individual who died in 2020 or in 2021 and did not receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payment may be eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit if the individual met the eligibility requirements.
An individual who died prior to January 1, 2020, does not qualify for the Recovery Rebate Credit."

I'm new to this discussion and was hoping to find an answer for filing taxes on behalf of our son who passed away in November. First, I'm pretty sure he used Turbo Tax to e-file for 2019, but I can't access his TTax account. He didn't keep any hard copies of his return or save a copy on his laptop, so I have no information from prior year returns. Do I just prepare his return with the information I have? He had 1 W-2 and 1 1099-NEC.
Or is there a way to speak with someone from Turbo Tax to find out if there's any way I can access his account?
Second question...his bank account information was not available to me. I have no idea if he received stimulus checks or not. Is there any way to find out from the IRS?
There was no will, so no court appointed executor or personal representative. I'm just doing this because I'm his Mom and I'm the one who does taxes in the family. 🙂
Any help will be greatly appreciated
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
You may be able to get a transcript of his 2019 tax return from the IRS, if you have enough personal identifying information. Here is a link to the website:

On the subject of stimulus checks, if he filed a 2019 or 2018 tax return, he should have received both the 1st and 2nd round stimulus checks. Also, since he is deceased, he would not be entitled to a stimulus check if he did not receive it already.
You can file his 2020 tax return based on the tax information you have. If there is more information that the IRS has, they will adjust his return after they process it accordingly.
