For the third year in a row, reporting my Crypto.com transactions to TurboTax has been a complete nightmare. How is it this difficult to report Crypto from one of the largest exchanges, to the largest tax service? I don't understand.
When I begin, I'm greeted with the message "Heads up! We’ve worked with Crypto.com to match their CSV file. Make sure you use theirs, without changes. You can upload a total of 4000 crypto sales across all your crypto CSV files." Great, sounds simple. I follow the exact directions. From my Crypto.com app, I create a CSV file for all of my transactions from 1/1/24-12/31/24. I export the file, save it to my computer, and upload it to TurboTax without making any changes. I'm given the message "We're having trouble with your file. Here are some common fixes that might help:

I have experienced the same response to some CSV files trying to upload to the Desktop version of TurboTax. I have had some success when I follow these steps:
Hope that this helps you.
Tried that, didn’t work. Thanks though.
If TurboTax won't accept your CSV file, proceed as follows.
Adjust your csv files so the columns are in the same order as on Form 8949.
Put a header with your name tax year and SS Number.
Use the summary option and then you can mail in the printout of the CSV files.
See the TurboTax instructions that will pop up.
You would use Category C and/or F when (I assume) you don't have a 1099-B.
At tax time, you will subtotal your SELL transactions by Sales Category.
IRS requires Box C/F details to be listed on your own Form 8949,
or on your other forms (e.g. spreadsheets) which have the same information and in the same manner as Form 8949.
Either way, if you choose to summarize (not itemize) and e-File, you have to mail the transaction details to the IRS within three business days of IRS accepting your e-Filed tax return.
If you put the printout in PDF format, TurboTax Online may ask you for it.
When mailing, you're supposed to use Form 8453 as a cover sheet.
Form 8453 is not to be signed.
Also, I found the TurboTax “universal csv template” and formatted all of my transactions into that form. Took me 2 hours, everything is EXACTLY the way it’s supposed to be, but it’s still not working. I have 110 transactions, so I even tried splitting the file into two in case there was too many transactions… still getting the same error. This is ridiculous.
