The TurboTax online editions should be available in early December.

The IRS will not be accepting any type of 2017 tax return until mid to late January 2018.

The IRS will hold all tax refunds that include either EIC or the Additional Child Tax Credit until mid February 2018.  The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting on Feb. 27, 2018, if direct deposit was used and there are no other issues with the tax return.

[Corrected] The IRS has not announced a start date yet.

@macuser_22 That IRS link is for tax year 2016.  The date on the notice 12/9/2016
Here is the only link for tax year 2017 that I have found from the IRS - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/get-ready-for-taxes-plan-ahead-for-2018-filing-season-to-avoid-refund-d...>

Your right.  The IRS refers to 2017 taxes as the *2018* filing season while most of us refer it as the 2017 filing season since it is for 2017 taxes.

Here is the 2018 link:

It appears that the IRS will wait until Congress acts on "extender" bills before they announce the opening (which is probably the reason that they have not released the 2017 versions of many forms yet).
