The social security number on my W2 is off by a few numbers. The company I worked for is permanently closed. How do I get a corrected W2 when I can’t get in contact with them?

If you are unable to contact your former employer to obtain a Corrected W-2 you will need to mail in your return and attach a letter explaining what is incorrect on the W-2 and why you are unable to obtain a Corrected W-2.
