Filling in the worksheet for a dependent, it says the dependent is qualified. But when you exit the worksheet and go to the summary it says "not a dependent this year." The dependent qualified last return, this year is unchanged. How do I fix this?

You may be talking apples and oranges here. The dependent may not be a dependent child on your return this year due to age and income but may be qualified for a $500 credit if they would have qualified except for their income. A child who is not a dependent on your return this year due to another parent claiming them may still qualify for you to take an Earned Income credit or Child care Credit.
The most important aspect here, though, is that you should not try to fill out a worksheet manually and then go back to the interview. Delete the dependents you filled out manually, then go to the interview and answer the questions there, and stick with that result, or make corrections to your answers in the interview. You may be misinterpreting and answering something differently in the worksheet than you would the interview questions.
The biggest thing that has changed is that you are doing all the questions over again this year. Moving back and forth from forms to interview makes it almost impossible to find entry errors.
