How to complete final submital after completing a mail-in extension using Turbo Tax?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If you mailed in your extension form, the IRS knows you requested an extension. There is nothing special to mark on your tax form. Just prepare your return normally. Make sure you have entered any payment you made when you sent in the extension form.
When you requested your extension you were supposed to pay your estimated tax due. Did you enter the payment you made into your tax return? Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes
Hello excellent question!!
It shoulds like you need to just log into your Turbo tax software and complete your return there. If you made an extension payment, please put that in in deductions and credits, Estimates and other taxes paid, other income taxes. In that section you will put in any extension payment you made.
When you get to the file part of your return, see if you can efile. If not, you will paper file your return. Sign it, date it and mail it certified mail (if you want confirmation that it was received).
Please click Live Help if you need any assistance with your return.
I sure hope this has been helpful.
If you reply back, I will try to keep an eye open to assist further.
Please give me a thumbs up if this was helpful.
