Twice while completing 2025 taxes and entering ITEMS donated when I moved on from charitable donations the software deleted all the entries with items - left the cash part intact. This reduced my total refund by over $250. I called Intuit and got no help but found what seems to be an issue if you have 1 item total that is over $500. For this year it seems to ask more questions than last - how obtained, value and if owned over 1 year. I reduced the value under $500 and it allowed things to work as it should. I didnt try to split into 2 seperate donations of half the value.

That's a new one!
There have been other software problems with "item" donations too. Something they have been working on.
Try again Friday after this week's software update is issued. (you might have to initiate it if you are using Desktop software.)
The other charity bugs they are working on might fix that one too.
Yes, I learned of the other issues as my federal & state returns were quickly rejected because a form was missing (8283?) for the items donated amount, after passing their error check. Even worse, I had the same type of donation last year and the software included the form then but missed it this year. Not too confidence building. I will try 1/31 to see if the software has been corrected for a resubmittal.
The form 8283 is available, but a number of folks have posted issues with getting "items" to show up on it properly when they should. Mostly dealing with how the $500 limit is handled....apparently improperly, but I'm not an expert about that.
