if she is permanently and totally disabled at any time during the year for purposes of the gross income test don't include Social Security benefits unless she is married filing a separate return and lived with their spouse at any time during the tax year or if 1/2 of their Social Security benefits plus their other gross income and tax-exempt interest is more than $25,000 ($32,000 if MFJ)
Please check your tax return to see if you actually claimed your sister. If so, you would see her listed on page 1 as a dependent. On page 2, line 19, you would see an Other Dependent Credit of $500. If you see her listed as a dependent with the credit, you are fine. However, if she is not listed, as I suspect - since you marked income over the limit, then you can choose to amend your tax return(s) and claim her.
Once your original return is accepted and the finances are settled, you can file an amended return.
