You may be able to claim someone as a Qualifying Relative dependent if:
You can’t claim a dependent if you are a dependent on someone else’s taxes
Earned less than $4,050 in gross taxable income. (Social Security income generally doesn’t count here.)
^^ Does this mean that their Social Security Income doesn't apply to the 'gross taxable income'? the $4,050 would only count if my dependent works and earns less than that?
