Can't Save Document

I can't save any of my changes to my 2019 tax form.  It says I don't have permission.  Yet when I look at the 2019 file (I could save the initial version several days ago) it says I do have read and write privileges.

Did you submit your return for review by the IRS? If you did, you will need to wait for your original tax return to be accepted by the IRS.  Once that has occurred then you can amend your tax return.

To amend your return you need to log into your TurboTax account to see an option to Amend a Filed and Accepted Return. Click on that to start the amending process.  Once you are finished making changes to your return you will need to print it out, sign, date and mail it to the IRS.

Please see the below FAQ for more information on amending your tax return:

I get the same message as above and I did check for correct permissions. I have not submitted to IRS yet. I choose to save anyway, but message still says I don’t have permission. I got around it by creatign a duplicate under a different name, but this is an obvious bug on an Apple Mac.

I have the same problem on a Mac.  I get the following message.

The document “Untitled” could not be saved as “Tax Return 19”. The volume “TurboTax Premier 2019” is read only.

I have tried making a duplicate but get the same message.

This is an apparently widely encountered defect in TurboTax. Here's a sampler of the numerous reports:

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: It appears that TurboTax fails to request "full disk access." You have to go into System Preferences / Security & Privacy and give TurboTax full disk access. I don't know why it's allowed to initially create the file but then never update it, but that's probably an Apple issue.

As another user pointed on, on a Mac, TurboTax must have full disk permissions granted through System Preferences. After I went in and manually changed it to full permission I could save the file, it would also Auto Save and I could then Electronically file. When TurboTax program is loaded it should do this automatically but for some reason it does not.
