I've worked as a contractor for this business for years. I have always entered their TIN. This year, the form is forcing me to enter a Payer's federal EIN, but this company doesn't have an EIN. If I try to insert the TIN as always, it reformats it with a hyphen in the wrong place. This issue is preventing me from filing. What should I do?

Actually I would just enter your total income as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income. You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099Misc or 1099K. Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash. Only the total goes to schedule C.
How to enter income from Self Employment
Thanks, and do you work for TurboTax? Are you a tax professional? I'd just like to know who is giving me this advice before I follow it.
I’m an accountant and do not work for Turbo Tax. I have been volunteering here for over 20 years.
Thanks!
