For the past several years, I have filed my taxes with TurboTax using my Mint.com login. I would login to Mint.com, and then click on the TurboTax logo, and immediately land in my TurboTax dashboard. This year, Mint.com is completely gone, so I can't do that.
I went to TurboTax and tried to use my Mint.com credentials. It accepted my email, but not my password. I did a password reset and logged in, but my account was empty. It looks like a new account, and none my of history is there. I'm not sure if I created a new account or had an old one I forgot about (it's possible), but now my old, "real" account is somehow inaccessible.
I spent three hours on the phone today with TurboTax support. No one I spoke to had even heard of Mint.com (not encouraging). I did get elevated and an investigation was opened, but it was closed immediately without a solution. The reps seem to think there's no way to fix this.
I find it hard to believe there aren't many others with this problem, and that's there's not a protocol for this. My old account is in there somewhere, I just can't access it because it was tied to my Mint.com login, and not my email address. I'm not trying to merge or link accounts. I just want to access the account I have.
Has anyone else run into this? Should I delete the empty account tied to my email address? Can anyone help?
I searched these forums and found other threads with people in the same situation.
