CAN I report Food Stamps and TANF as income?

I know that it's generally considered "non-taxable" income, but can I choose to report it anyway? Can I choose to report non-taxable income anyway? It would qualify me for a bigger EIC, so I'm wondering if I can choose to report non-taxable income.

No your food stamps and other public assistance benefits will not increase your EIC. Only income you earned from working will count toward the calculation of your earned income credit.
