Can I override the "needs review" of my 1099-B?

The 1099-B I received for the sale of my small bond had blanks in it so Turbo Tax keeps flagging it as "needing review." Can I overide that to complete my return?

Can I override the "needs review" of my 1099-B?

If you have an entry that consistently says "Needs Review" , and you've double checked the entry, I suggest that you go through the FEDERAL REVIEW that is on the top menu bar.

This will give you specific questions about any entry that is out of line.

Federal Review is at the top of your screen along with

  • Income & Expenses
  • Deductions & Credits
  • Other Tax Situations
  • Federal Review

To eliminate the errors with the blank fields, put zero in each of those fields.

This seemed like it would work but it didn't. It is still flagged as needing review.

You need to report the form 1099-B on your tax return as it shows income from the sale of investments. You can try deleting the form and re-entering it to see if that will resolve your error message.

A simple way to delete forms in TurboTax online is to use the Tax Tools menu option, which is on your left menu bar when you are working in your program. Then, choose Tools and then Delete a form.

If you are working in the download TurboTax program, use the Forms Mode on your menu bar to bring up the form you want to delete, then choose the Delete Form option at the bottom of the form.
