In the past, I think the desktop TurboTax software license agreement allowed one to share their copy of TurboTax with others. However, the current version of the license agreement includes the following:
2.2 You acknowledge and agree that the Software is licensed, not sold. You agree not to use, nor permit any third party to use, the Software in a manner that violates any applicable law, regulation or this Agreement. You agree you will not:
- Provide access to or give the Software or any part of the Software to any third party;
- Reproduce, duplicate, modify, copy, deconstruct, reverse-engineer, sell, trade or resell the Software;
- Transfer your license to the Software to any other party;
- Attempt unauthorized access to any other Intuit systems that are not part of the Software;
- Permit any third party to benefit from the use or functionality of the Software via a rental, lease, timesharing, service bureau, hosting service, or other arrangement; or
- Make the Software available on any file-sharing or application hosting service.
This would appear to allow you to install and use the software yourself on as many PCs as you like, but seems to prohibit the use of your copy of TurboTax by someone other than yourself. If that's the case, you could prepare the tax returns for your family members but could not allow them to prepare their own tax returns using your copy.

Yes, you can install it on as many computers as your own. Just be sure you meet the systems requirements. The CD contains the software for both Windows and Mac, but you need separate downloads for W and M.

Can I use Turbo on 2 different computers with different Window programs? One is Windows 10 and the other is Windows7
Yes, if you are using TurboTax online you can sign in from any computer with your user ID and password. If you are using TurboTax CD/Download you will have to install TurboTax on each computer. It is not recommended that windows 7 be used as Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. Without the support and updates from Microsoft, Windows 7 will lack the security to efile tax returns.
I own 2 computers and do tax returns for family members; in the past I could install one disc in both my computers and do 10 e-files. Why am I not able to do that this year, I cannot afford to purchase 2 disc to do more than 5 e-files.
You can install TurboTax Desktop on up to five different computers, but you are still limited to a total of five federal e-files, per the end user license. For more information see:
