can i file my taxes early? like today?

i wanted to start filing my taxes but i see no way to do that on turbo tax. i was just wondering if there was a day that starts the filing. i didn’t know if i could do my taxes early or if there’s a certain day to start filing.

The IRS began accepting e-files several weeks ago. If your forms are ready, you can go ahead and e-file.

The IRS opened its filling season for processing 2024 returns on January 27. As long as your forms for both federal and state are ready to be filed, you should be able to start your taxes today. Verify that your forms are ready using the link below
