You are too late to start a new 2022 return using online TurboTax.   The filing deadline for 2022 returns was October 16.   Now online software is closed for new tax returns.   And....you cannot prepare a stand alone state return using TurboTax.   The information flows from the federal return to the state return, so you have to prepare a federal return first.

If you need to prepare a 2022 federal and state return, then you can purchase the desktop software and download it to a full PC or Mac--not to a mobile device of any kind-- and then mail the tax returns.  They cannot be e-filed.   The price of the CD/download will depend on which version you purchase.

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Yes you can. You need to have the state program along with the federal so it will transfer the data needed. I just paid $25.00 to file the state electronically.
