I was basically forced to file my return with the premier product. I didn’t use any of those features. I think it forced me to upgrade after putting in the sale of my home but that didn’t nearly qualify for the gains tax.
I didn’t import any transactions or do anything else that this product offers. Do I have to eat the $30 difference?
Is there anything after the fact I can take advantage of with the premier product?

OK ... Turbotax did not FORCE you to use any program... they are not the spanish inquisition. However once you pay the online fees and have access to the return or efile it, they cannot be refunded.
Before you file the return you have options to use any program you choose including the FREE or IRS FREE FILE versions.

If you are eligible you can use the TurboTax Free File Program which is free to file both a federal and state tax return. The Free File Program edition is a full featured personal tax program and on a separate website from the TurboTax online editions.
The Turbo Tax Free File program which is free for federal and state. And has more forms than the Federal Free Edition, like Schedules A, B, C , D, E, F, EIC, H, K-1, SE, etc.
NOTE: You will have to setup a new account with a new username and new password or it will take you back to regular Turbo Tax.
To qualify for the Free File website you just need to meet one of these 3 things.
AGI $36,000 or less.
Active duty military with AGI of $69,000 or less
OR qualify for EIC (earned income credit.)
In order to use the Free File program, you have to start it at a special website. Click on the Orange button I Qualify, Let's get Started and set up a NEW account
Ok so you changed your question ... if you had to report the home sale because you got a form 1099-S, even if it is not taxable, the sale has to be reported on the Sch D which means you needed to upgrade to Premier.
Ok perhaps not forced but they didn’t make it very clear I had another option. I should’ve looked before purchasing it, sure.
So are there any features that come with premier that I can take advantage of after the fact?
Next year choose the FREE version first and THEN log in so you don't start in the Premier option ... then only upgrade if required. IF you qualify for one of the IRS FREE FILE options you can check that out first.
Deluxe is what I’ve used the last 5 years and what I thought I was using this time also. It’s my mistake. Guess I can’t blame intuit for not telling me I could save money by using a cheaper edition..
