Can I delete my TurboTax account?

Once a TurboTax account is created, it cannot be deleted.  You can simply abandon it.

If you'd like to clear any data that you may have entered into the program, you can use the "Clear and Start Over" feature.  See instructions below.

You won't be able to delete your TurboTax account but you may request to have it deactivated, if you would like for it to be deactivated please contact us.

If you want to have your data deleted from TurboTax/Intuit go to: accounts.intuit.com, scroll down to Data & Privacy, to "Delete your intuit data" and press continue for steps of this process. 

To stop emails from TurboTax you will need to change your account preferences:

• Sign into your email account and view the message you receive from TurboTax.
• Scroll to the bottom of the email, and click on the link "Manage Preferences". 
• From there you will be taken to a screen that says "Manage My Email Communications".
• Click on "Manage Preferences."
• You will see a list of the types of emails TurboTax sends.  Click the circled X on the screen to unsubscribe from the types of email messages you do not want to receive.
• Click on Save Preferences.

My old email was hacked so I can’t access it so I made a new one but it won’t let me file with the new account because it says my social has already been used . What can I do ?

Do you mean you e-filed your return and rejected because your social has been used? If so, you need to contact the IRS and mail in your return. Here is an IRS link for full information.

You can remove all entries and start over or remove all entries and abandon your TurboTax account.

Click Tax Tools, then Clear and start over at the bottom left of the screen.

You can also click on Intuit Account in the lower left hand corner of the screen.  Click on the options down the left side to remove personal information.

I need to delete my Turbo tax account completely so I am able to use H& R block using my SSN so the IRS will accept my federal return please
