Code F1040-516 means someone else has claimed you as a dependent.

• You may have entered your Social Security number incorrectly.
  • This is uncommon, but worth checking.
  • Go to Personal Info, and confirm your Social was entered correctly.
• This may be because your parents claimed you, or
  • Consult other family members to determine if they listed you as a dependent.
  • You will not be able to E-file claiming yourself as a dependent
  • In the questionnaire you have the option to say "someone else can claim me as a dependent.
  • Otherwise you will have to file by mail.
