- You may have entered your Social Security number incorrectly.
- This is uncommon, but worth checking.
- Go to Personal Info, and confirm your Social was entered correctly.
- This may be because your parents claimed you, or
- Consult other family members to determine if they listed you as a dependent.
- You will not be able to E-file claiming yourself as a dependent
- In the questionnaire you have the option to say "someone else can claim me as a dependent.
- Otherwise you will have to file by mail.
