Business Expenses

For self employed people do business expenses that can reduce income tax be taken from the current year as well? 

Like for example with 2024 tax business expenses can you use 2025 ones as well?

Your tax year business expenses have to match the calendar year expenses if you use a cash accounting system.  You could not include 2025 expenses on the 2024 return.
