Bug Report: Form 5695 QMID validation error for Amana/Daikin/Goodman (I7Q6)

Update: I'm using the web version of Turbo Tax, I logged back on today and it noted the issue with the QMID has been fixed and I could re-file. I did and it was accepted in about 20 minutes.  So hopefully all is fixed 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I too am having this issue with Carrier and QMID is N8H2. Any update on a fix??

@clp4482 , I haven't heard about any problems with the N8H2 QMID...it's been all about codes with a capital I or capital O in code. What error message are you getting?

I got same problem with this and still waiting for TurboTax fix its bug. They put their reputation on the line... ugg... today is 02/11/2026

@user17708263949 Make sure your software is at the latest release.  Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen.  Click on Check for Updates

There are a few manufacturers having this problem. The IRS assigned them codes that do not meet the software's required format of Letter-number-letter-number. For instance, Mine is Weil-Mclain. The legit code is 46H2. I don't know how long it's going to take to fix the bug in software, but I have tried other avenues, and haven't found one yet that allows me to continue to e-filing.

I have NO LUCK so far with Amana code I7Q6 which was given to me from this manufacturing. Beside TurboTax, does someone know other site such as H & R Block or some other app. would make this code accepted?

If you are using the TurboTax Desktop software please make sure you have checked for any software updates. I initially had this issue using the TurboTax Desktop for Mac product. However, the "I7Q6" QMID issue for was was fixed with the software update available on February 8th.

I also had the I7Q6 QMID that originally had the error and my return was rejected on the web version.  But mine was fixed on the 8 or 9 and return was accepted pretty quickly after.

@clp4482 Can you tell me how you resolved the QMID Carrier N8H2 from rejecting?  Our return keeps getting rejected with the reason as:   FED_5695_JOS_Rule - There is a potential issue with the calculation regarding Form 5695 Joint Occupancy Statement.

I had trouble entering the code on the form but have NOT filed my return.

This return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on February 27, 2026. On or after this date, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing.
