Audit Defense

Hello,

1. If I don't want to pay for the Audit Defense now, Can I pay it in the future when I get the IRS notice?

If yes, how much does it charge at that time?

2. An employer filed a 1099-NEC but they did not send it to me. What will I do? Just report it as cash (in other income tab) instead of 1099-NEC income?

You can purchase audit defense through TaxAudit.com however you cannot purchase a membership after you receive an audit notice.

You can engage Tax Audit to represent you if you receive a notice.

For details see: Not an Audit Defense Member, but Facing a Tax Audit?

If you did not receive a 1099-NEC you can report the amount as cash. You will be fine as long as your gross income equals or exceeds the total from all your 1099-NECs.
