Are there specific instructions about how (with/without staples) and where to attach my W2 to my 1040 that I have to mail in???(long story about why I can't efile)

I seem to recall that you shouldn't staple, but its been years since I did a paper return.

Use a paper clip to attach your W-2 and any other form showing withholding to the front of your 1040.

Hi Lisa,

No staples (just as you remember).  Use a paper clip to attach your W2 in the middle of the front page.  If using a regular business envelope be sure not to fold the W2.  If you're sending it flat in a 9X12 of course you won't have to worry about that part.  Be sure to sign and date.  Sorry you can't e-file...
