Has anyone ever been under review for Federal Return?

i have the same situation as y’all! was accepted the 29th, got my state a week later, still no federal. called and was told im on a 45-60 day review and was sent a letter the 23rd. called again today spoke to different agent and he said he has no idea why i was told i was sent a letter because there is nothing in my case of being sent a letter or intent to send a letter & that my case was pulled for review February 15th which is when my 45 day count starts and if i dont have my refund before March 31st ro call them. He said it could be tomorrow that I get it or next week or even March 31st. He said its not necessarily the whole 45 days, it just all depends when they finish with my case. The 45 days is just a time frame. So frustrating i really hope i get it sooner than the 45 days!

Kdriggins i understand thats the down payment for my home. Bust ur ass to fix ur credit the the irs screws u its a shame

I filed January 30th- they got accepted later that night. Got my state on 2/20 but when I checked the WMR website for my federal I kept getting the same response “being processed will give a date when available”. After several people I know got their refund back who had EIC I decided to call the IRS directly... the rep told me I was under review since feb 15th and that it could take 45 days for them to complete the review, he also said they sent a letter to me on 2/27. He did not know the content of this letter. Has anyone had this happen?! I really hope it doesn’t take a full 45 days :(

I haven't received me state either but when I called they told me by 2weeks I should have them which would be the 2nd week in March....when talking to IRS they told me the same thing...I filed 1/29 and was told under review since 2/15 only thing different is they said I wasn't getting a letter. Idk what's happening. Why is it taking so long for my state to come back as well. This is the first year this has ever happened to me! @shealowther

I got my state refund, just waiting for my federal review situation to be over... this has never happened to me and I’ve always filed with turbo tax since 2014 with EIC! @kdriggins85

Was anything wrong with ur taxes if you got your state? I’m just wondering if that means that I did everything right since I rcvd my state taxes already. Or if there could potentially be an error and I not get my federal

No....I've done my taxes before using TurboTax...this has never happened she said they didn't process until the 19th but I find that odd because that was a holiday. Said will b in my acct in a week or two....but the federal is what im concerned about. No letter, nothing was wrong, but there under review and I'm being told just check everyday because it may not take 45 days....but idk

Apparently they’re randomly selecting people to be reviewed that have “earned income credit”.. pain in the ass really, I file the same way every year no errors

Kdriggins I got my state back this week. As per federal same bs as before the tax advocate said I would be getting a letter so we shall see but this is really insane and tired of calling and getting a different answer. We now play the waiting game I don't check everyday anymore because I was told the only update they do that matters is on Friday night into sat at 3am and that is when you get DDD
