I had filed my 2023 return using TurboTax Desktop and Paper (not eFile). Now I need to do an amended return to my 2023 return. Because I had paper-filed, doing eFile for Amended return is not an option. Got that. So, I am doing a Paper-file of Amended return. What I am struggling with is ... For my amended return, what do I need to attach to my Form 1040X ? TurboTax prints out (in addition to 1040X), the complete set of Forms & Schedules of my corrected 2023 1040 (both the Forms/Schedules that have changes as well as the Forms/Schedules that do NOT have changes). My question is: DO I ATTACH THE WHOLE SET TO 1040X ? OR DO I JUST ATTACH THE FORMS/SCHEDULES THAT DO HAVE CHANGES TO MY 1040X ? (Form 1040X Part II "Explanation of Changes" says: "Attach any supporting documents and new or changed forms and schedules." That seems to say only attach the new or changed forms and schedules. However, when I google this question, the FAQ on IRS website seems to indicate that we should be attaching ALL forms & schedules, even the ones that do not have changes ... So, I am confused. Which is correct ?) Anybody has insights on this question please ?

The actual Instructions for Form 1040-X should take precedence over Google.
---
Do not include your old 1040 nor your revised 1040 because the Form 1040-X reflects any changes there and becomes your new tax return.
Include any new/corrected document only if it shows federal tax withheld, and include in order only those Sequence Numbered tax Forms and Schedules that changed or were added due to your amendment.
Attachment Sequence Number is on all the forms and Schedules that come after 1040.
If you are using TurboTax you have to do this by visual comparison. The program won't break out those pages for you.
If your amendment dropped a form,
you should include with Form 1040-X a new copy of the form(s) with -0- in the appropriate lines,
or explain why in Part II Explanation
---
If any forms specify an attachment, put all those attachments at the end in the same order as the forms they go with.
Mail to the address shown for your location in the most recent Instructions for Form 1040-X.
Use the most current IP Pin you have. The IRS will issue you a new IP PIN each year. The new one will inactivate the old one. See IRS FAQs for IP PINs
Only attach the forms that changed to you 1040X. It won't hurt anything if you send them all, but you don't need to.

@fanfare ... So, you said: ... include in order only those Sequence Numbered tax Forms and Schedules that changed or were added due to your amendment ... BUT, with the exception of DO NOT include the modified Form 1040 (because Form 1040X overrides the modified Form 1040). Do I understand you correctly ?
@fanfare a follow-up question if you don't mind ... For my Amended return (Form 1040X), which PIN should I be using ? Should I be using the PIN that I had used to filed the original 2023 Tax Return (the PIN that I obtained from IRS in Calendar Year 2024) ? Or, Should I be using the PIN that I had obtained from IRS in Calendar Year 2025 (to file the 2024 Tax Return with) ? Thank you !
